Shika, lissome and supple, has a look about her that hints at the dhaereaow parts of her blood. Her hair has a matte black look; her eyes are a vivid red hue, but the left is distinctively draconic in appearance- with a long thin pupil.
A dull gold half mask hangs loosely suspended by a strap around her neck. Her youthful elven features are somewhat marred by a T shaped burn scar on her right cheek, and often a somewhat callous expression.
She has some other lesser scars that intersperse her grey skin. Her right ring finger bears a burn around the base, and on her wrist is tattooed the mark of the Mercykillers. If her left arm is exposed would be shown to be similar to those of lizard folk.
Usually dressed in dark colored formal clothing, and a hood trimmed in decorative gold, she seems to move in an unnaturally graceful, silent manner when she wishes to do so. Hanging from her belt, on a black strap, is a small black ledger.
Personality
Shika's personality is characterized by arrogance, distrust, mystery, and irritability. She can be snarky and rude, or distant and dispassionate in many of her dealings. She is not the warmest companion around, and will sometimes fall into quiet pensive moods with little to no notice.
Shika seems to hold little attachment anymore, even for her once dearest companions, despite her attempts to aid them. Even so, she sometimes finds herself in seemingly compassionate moods or gets worked up in a fervor of idealistic views that push her into what might be seen as charitable acts by some and may leave others wondering what she's trying to gain. Her habits and history of selfishness and power hunger would leave most to doubt her motives are ever primarily altruistic.
Identity
She goes most often by the name "Shade". It alludes to her proficiency in stealth and parallels her manner of dress. She says she has been traveling the planes all her life. She refers to all wizards, sorcerers, psionics, bards with oversimplified and misinformed terms. She supposedly spent some time as a soldier before arriving to Ironridge, and took a liking to it, even so far as to speak almost fondly of the Rigun-Ironridgean war she got caught up in. Despite her bitter words about Ironridge, she has kept returning to it for many many years.
Life of a Criminal
Shika, a thief known to be talented in stealth and infiltration, has been associated with many crimes and has a poor standing with the guards of Ironridge. This bad relationship with the law does not seem to make her too cynical, because she often taunts or speaks in a "friendly" way with members of the guard. The full extent of her criminal activity is unknown, but some key incidents are attached to her name.
Murders
Shika was charged and subsequently incarcerated for the murder of two guards within the castle walls of an unnamed member of the upper class. It's unclear whether she was invited to the premises or broke in, but there were no signs that her accomplice (a drow woman, whose name has not been released) participated actively in the murders themselves. The two looted a few of the rooms before fleeing the scene by flight. Shika was arrested in the streets, presented with the following evidence: a broken potion bottle found in an information extraction chamber, and markings on the guards' bodies seemingly inflicted by a rapier. Shika supposedly struggled against the arrest, barbarically assaulted the officer who restrained her in the process, and raised a general fuss. She fled the trial arrogantly and with no respect to the court, immediately after sentencing. She remained at large for a few months before eventually turning herself in, paying her fine, and serving her time.
Her Second Incarceration
There is some confusion surrounding the charges against Shika bringing about her second incarceration in Ironridge. She was arrested in the legal district after what seemed like a brief and calm talk with Kevin Smith, she cooperated fully. She had a message sent out from the prison, and not long after she had done so a legal advisor arrived on her behalf. Shortly after his arrival Shika was released, not to be re-arrested for several weeks. Again she cooperated, and was this time incarcerated for the second time since her arrival to Ironridge. She served her time, and when she left she bore a "T" shaped burn on her cheek, and a Mercykiller symbol tattooed onto her right wrist. Some theorize that this may be a Mark of Justice, but the exact terms if it is such are unknown.
The Plague
There is some suspicion that Shika was involved one of the many plagues that have ravished Ironridge. Specifically, the plague that would mutate its victims, the plague that was used to contaminate food at the Burgandy. Some speculate she may have been involved in that very incident. No records have been released to confirm or deny this rumor, but some have said they saw her associating with the cultists at the root of the plague, she had information on where their base was, and she had a set of the cult's robes in her possession during the epidemic. This is offered as an explanation for the "T" burned into Shika's cheek, supposedly it stands for "terrorist"
Demagogue of the Slums
Shika was rumored to be at the head of the MLL, another possible reason for her second stay at gaol, a mob-like criminal organization in the underground of Ironridge. The exact structure of the guild is unknown, but some attempts have been made on her life because of her involvement. Theories say that she had most of her involvement with the information ring, and some suggest that her guild might've been working in loans, drugs, and prostitution. A large portion of her members were poor slummers and children, who were more susceptible to the demagogue-ish tactics of this criminal. Since her second incarceration she had been off and on with her guild, some fell to other more hostile groups during her stay in gaol, and so she had little luck repairing their lost morale. Although Kevin Smith participated in further destroying the "Mitsu's Lords and Ladies" guild, Shika has taken no actions against him, and she herself hasn't been arrested for her leadership of it. She was possibly no longer recognized as a part of the guild by the Ironridgean government.
Relationships
<Not Up To Date> She seems to be pursuing Cay'Norn again, but without so much desperation as she once did when she was in love or when she claimed him as her brother. Her motivation is rumored to be lingering affection towards the drow. Which may be why she avoids him when Aria is around. She seems to like the tiefer well enough but treats her with some level of caution at times, and sometimes gets into bad blood with her, but usually it's short lived.
Shika's high profile major love interests were Lowar'lith, Alton, and Aout/Prothen. Rumor was that she stole Lowar'lith's soul, other rumors says that she almost married him, but either way she wound up bitter with him once it was over. Alton was a drow she dated for a while, and he lived with her, it's unclear why it ended but she typically speaks sharply with and of him when he's brought up in conversation. Aout and Prothen were rumored to be the same person despite their differing appearances, Shika had him living with her for a while and they dated on and off. Some conflict came between them when Cay'Norn and Aout started to hate eachother vehemently. She seems less angry at Aout than she is towards the other two. These three lovers were all largely disliked at some point or another in Ironridge, but Lowar'lith regained much of his public image. Shika is rumored to have a child named Tharious, suspicion is that the father was one of these three, but she doesn't bring the child to Ironridge.
She likes a few of the more amicable townsfolk as well, but it's more of a surface relationship or admiration of skill it would seem. One such ally is Grod, he is cuddly and sweet enough to lighten her mood. Shika seems to like and respect Cap'n Lucy and would attempt to help her when she can, she seems to like the pirate's company.
She has more professional relationships as well, such as her one with Marcus The Flanker. She likes to take him hunting and spend time with him but she really hasn't been seen speaking emotionally with him. Even so, some rumors claim that he is her new lover. She is fairly detached from Shi'Naynee as well, but she keeps polite, and will try to keep her from harm if she can. She shows no sympathy for the drow's self harm but does listen with excessive interest when Shi gets in one of her odd moods.
Shika rarely has had reason to hate anyone in particular, but she gets very angry in regards to Lurormand, the infamous drow rumored to be the source of many serious brutalities and horrors. She doesn't get along so well with La'feil, very likely because he's been known to speak very harshly of her. And still she's angry with Lowar'lith, and she doesn't get along very well with Yante, some say she stole some of his fingers.
