God of duty, loyalty, and obedience in the Faerûnian pantheon, some scholars suspect he is the same power as the Zakharran Warrior-Slave, Vortaqal. He has a friendship with Helm, though the two deities' priesthoods are cold to one another. The power has many enemies amongst the foul deities, but the return of his arch nemesis Bane has forced Torm to concentrate his efforts again.

Torm is one of the three deities of similar interests known as the Triad, along with the more powerful Ilmater and Tyr, whom he serves.

Torm's realm in Mercuria is known as Trueheart; his palace, located in the realm's heart, resembles a military fortress. Its walls are mithral, its battlements diamond, its gates adamantine. Hosts of archons and aasimon fly in and out at Torm's command, serving the cause of Law and Good on the planes. They are particularly vigilant against the plans of Bane.
