Skills
Spell-casting of the Ninth Circle, Fighting with a greatsword, Dungeoneering such as lock-picking and disabling traps. She's studied many things to become a jack of many trades though master of only one.

Perhaps her greatest skill is her ability to befriend nearly anyone, resulting in a rather mis-matched collection of friends from all walks of life.

Equipment and Items
She is most commonly seen standing about the Fulcrum in a suit of full plate armour made with skillfully-carved bone of some unfortunate creature or creatures. She carries a staff with a fire and skull motif, and in battle, that staff becomes a greatsword with the same motif, and she wears a masked helmet crafted from the skull of a Tiefling would-be mugger with holes in the sides for her own horns.

My strength lies solely in my tenacity."
-Louis Pasteur

Physical Features

Charley is clearly of Fiendish blood. She has a pair of thick horns protruding from underneath her long hair, sweeping backward in a smooth curve like a diadem. Only those who would inspect her scalp might detect a smaller pair of horns underneath the fist, hidden by her hair. Her lower legs, though previously crammed painfully into brass or bone boots are now plain for all to see as clawed and clearly inhuman. If seen top-naked, the skin of her back fades to a deep blood red like some kind of horrible rash.

Her body emanates a great deal more heat than that of a typical humanoid, more like a Fire-Genasi. She finds it uncomfourtable, so she prefers to wear light clothing when not in battle or making public appearance. The cause for this heat becomes apparent if she were to bleed, her blood being dark and filled with tiny orange sparks that scald when touched.

In public, Charley always carries herself with what may be either dignity and confidence, or pride and bravado. Whichever it might be may be lost on those who don't know her personally. Now that her feet are loose from their cobbled prisons, she walks with a grace common to those with dog-knees. Her skin is unblemished by tattoos or piercings of any kind, and she wears only her enchanted jewelry for decoration.

Personality

Always a direct response and always an opinion. This goes in sharp contrast to her personable nature.

Everything she does is with purpose and built to serve a singular ambition. In the Illithid tongue of emotion and imagery, her very name is "Ambition".

She's filled with chaos and impulse tempered only by self-discipline and the experience of past mistakes. She lusts after men and women alike, often flirting briefly with particularly attractive individuals.

In times of life-threatening danger, her fear is replaced with a single-mindedness to shove on. When speaking telepathically, her dual nature is reflected by dual voices and dual inflections.

Relations

She has many friends in Sigil and the Planes. Among her closest relationships are-

Xalluliamious A close friend and adviser, she met him soon after he arrived in Sigil. She learned a new spell just to communicate with him and has learned many things about herself and the world she lives in since meeting him. She will always stand up for him when his race is inevitably hated by others.

Emma Coronis A strong woman who just doesn't know it, or at least Charley thinks so. She wants to see how far Emma can grow.

Raven Serebro A beautiful young shifter with a brilliant mind and a hunger for knowledge. Charley and Raven have entered into a romantic relationship, finding a strong bond in their similar interests and alike powerful minds.

And many others who just don't have their own paragraph yet...

Accomplishments

Mastered spells of the Ninth Circle.

Goals

Her life goal is nothing less than ambition itself. Charley considers herself ambition incarnate, seeking yet further ambition in a never-ending path of personal growth. Her apparent part-Balor heritage allows her a window into the world of the Abyss through which she's determined to become an Abyssal Lord. This is only the beginning though, as she intends to continue to grow in power and perhaps outlive Time itself.

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas

Charley made a deal ten years ago with a Balor to gain demonic powers by being granted some of his flesh. In exchange, an unspecified favour was promised for when her powers mature. Even though Charley has been holding back her development to prevent it overtaking her inner self, that favour could be called in at any time, and could take any form.

Anything endangering her closest friends and allies. An opportunity to earn power. An opportunity to forge a powerful alliance, such as with an Abyssal Lord or a Power.

History

Origins: Born on Toril to wizarding parents, Charley had her father's shadow to live in. As a child, nothing seemed good enough for her father's expectations, so she learned to work very hard to achieve. Over time, she discovered the only one worth satisfying is herself.

Charley's father was a War Wizard with the Crown of Cormyr. He was a researcher, and he was allowed a private cabin in the wilderness due to the secret nature of his work. The goal of his research was to develop a modified Gate spell which could simultaneously pull forth and bind a powerful Outsider in a fraction of the time it would normally take. Pressured to show results, he took the risk of summoning a Balor, and was ripped apart along with his apprentice, Charley's mother. Having the habit of sneaking downstairs to watch her father work, the eight-year-old Charley witnessed the slaughter, the Balor making eye-contact that would stay with her for the rest of her life.

The traumatized child was adopted by a friend of her father's from the War Wizard Academy. An instructor of the Conjuration-school, his personal offices were filled with many books on the subject, which young Charley consumed in order to forget her trauma. She developed a passion for the science of it as a result, and would often sneak into the Academy's library to borrow more books with subjects spanning all the arcane schools and especially languages and the Planes. Charley's budding talent for the arcane arts blended with her childhood trauma creating inspiration to a direction for her life: She would be like the Balor that killed her parents; powerful enough to prevent someone strong from taking everything from her ever again.

But as Charley grew in the arcane arts, she developed a hunger for her own personal growth, applying to join the Academy like her father and guardian. She was rejected, too old and too little-experienced. Subsequent applications got her nowhere, so she decided to leave the Academy and find proper instruction elsewhere. She took with her a few "borrowed" books from the library, the few she had not yet read. Among them a book written in Abyssal with incantations and instructions inscribed hazardously in the Dark Speech.

It was in Yulash she met an outcast wizard and self-styled archmage named Elzevir Routa. He was a batty and bitter man with a more public cheerful and friendly side, as learned as the greatest of War Wizards, and willing to take Charley on as an apprentice. El's practical attitude rubbed off on Charley, giving her the clarity of mind to begin hunting her ambition in earnest.

She began to study the dark books she took from the Academy, learning just why they were forbidden. It seemed they were meant for her eyes. In particular a tome entitled The Acolyte of The Skin, bound in leather with a sense of otherworldly wrongness about it, and written in an obscure and dangerous dialect of Abyssal known as the Dark Speech. With the rites outlined in this book, she contacted the Abyss, drawing the attention of the one who knew her. The very same Balor who killed Charley's parents sent a Quasit page of his, Enmaxil to communicate by proxy. She and Enmaxil negotiated a deal in which she would receive a patch of the Balor Beneve's skin in exchange for the use of her eventual resulting power for Beneve's agenda.

Years passed in Yulash. Elzevir moved on, leaving Charley behind as a fledgling Conjurer in her own right. Her Balor blood began gradually to show itself year by year. First her eyes turned red, and her canines sharpened to fangs almost overnight. These could be hidden or excused in the superstitious region where she lived. Ten years passed and the locals began to grow far too suspicious when she began to sprout horns from her cranium. In order prevent the inevitable mob chase out of town, Charley used a portal to the Outlands she had researched long ago. Arriving in the Outlands, she sought the mythical City of Doors.

In Sigil: On arriving in Sigil, she was as clueless as any prime. It took a rather long time to learn the ways of the place.

She spent her time training her mind and body like any good planeswalker. She made a number of friends. And eventually sought a job in town.

Through much harassment and multiple application letters, she landed a low-level job as a scrivener in the Hall of Records in the Clerk's.

Charley continues to grow in knowledge and power, keeping herself to a reasonable pace lest the power overtake her mind.
