History:

Born in Hawal, on one of the many remote "Corsair Islands" of Zakhara, Zahia had a markably different life growing up than most other Zakharans. Notably, there was her heritage, assumed by everyone she knew to be a sign of Djinni blood.

From a young age, she showed a great talent for archery. The otherwise goofy, irreverent child took the art with absolute seriousness. Though her head was always in the clouds, the arrow always seemed to bring her right to earth. She trained night and day with her bow, learning everything she could about her craft. She even became a skilled hand with making her own bows and arrows.

At the age of 15, she caught the attention of the notorious corsair Hamid ibn Qasim. He was no fan of the girl's flighty attitude, but he recognized her immense skill with the bow and the surprisingly intelligent manner which she conducted herself in the face of battle. He offered her work on his ship. She was mostly uninvolved in the direct dealings of the corsairs, and was mostly called upon to help in the plundering of ships which refused to pay the sea-tolls.

One day, a ship belonging to Captain Shapur of Calimshan made a fateful stop in Hawal. Though himself often a pirate, Shapur gladly paid the corsairs the sea-toll, as his crew had not been in port for many months, and needed a safe place to stay.

Employed by Shapur was another Air Genasi by the name of Aeolus Zephyr, a sailor that young Zahia immediately took a liking to. Realizing that Shapur would soon set sail for the mainland of Zakhara, and from there, likely back to Calimshan, she offered her services to Shapur. Though he was skeptical, he still gave the young Zahia a chance to prove her skills. She lined up three posts and set a pomegranate upon each, then stood so far away one could barely even see the fruits. She let loose an arrow and managed to skewer all three with one arrow, earning Shapur's respect.

She served for many years under Shapur alongside a diverse crew of many others, until they made a stop in a small port in the Chult. While carousing in a tavern, Aeolus and Zahia stumbled through a door in the tavern's backroom, inadvertantly carrying the key which would activate a portal to Sigil.

Relations:

Aeolus has since disappeared from Zahia's side, leaving the young gensai to wander the City of Doors alone, until she met with the young ranger and planeswalker Annalynne Boldheart. They have since become close friends and travel companions, and the rumors point to a budding romance between them. She has also been seeking the council of Factor Balthazar De'Medici on becoming a member of the Godsmen, as well as a merchant marine upon his airship.

She also adventures on occasion with the sorceress Kiyosa and the Ranger Cessca to find adventure.
