Appearance
Sah'el is a drow and a fairly typical one at that: red eyes, ebony skin, white hair which she keeps in a tight braid. Her face is somewhat broader than the norm for an elf, and her nose a little flat, making her somewhat less than a classical beauty. She usually wears simple yet comfortable dark outfits that allow her a good freedom of movement. She carries around a few bladed weapons and at least her trusted old guitar, but often also a heavy backpack filled with things such as books, scrolls, and bundles of cloths containting whatever old thing she recently managed to dig out. Unless she is just back from the Outlands, she usually keeps herself very clean, which can be a rare sight in the Lower Ward. There are always a few guitar strings tied around her left wrist, and also what appears to be a tiny piece of crystal.

A small pewter badge has now found its place pinned on the shawl she usually wears, marking her affliation to the Bleak Cabal.

This drow is not exactly known for her wide range of facial expressions. She rarely smiles, almost never laughs though she does seem to have a certain skill for frowning and scowling. Even when she stands perfectly still, her fingertips are calloused from the strings of her guitar, and usually drumming on something, as if following a tune no-one else can hear. She has a low-pitched, alto voice, not unpleasant to hear when she sings.

Personality and relationships
Sah'el's personality is sometimes difficult to follow. She is usually calm and polite if not particularly friendly, though she is not shy at expressing exactly what she feels -when she wants to. Innocence, soft-hearted people and excessive cheerfulness already irritated her before she joined the Bleakers, and that certainly didn't help.

Her left wrist is usually adorned with a few guitar strings, and one tiny crystal held by a simple string.

Senna is probably the closest to a traditionnal 'friend' that Sah'el has. She regularly spends some time alone with the girl, and appears to implicitly trust her.

A small pewter badge has also found its place pinned on the shawl she usually wears, marking her affiliation to the Bleak Cabal.

Though she seems to have mellowed a little over the years, Sah’el is still not the most expressive person. Her face stays blank most of the time and frowning seems to come more naturally to her than laughter. She isn’t the kind of Bleaker that you’d expect to sit down and wait for the world to end; If anything, she seems afflicted by a sort of hyperactivity: even when she stands perfectly still, her calloused fingertips are usually drumming on something as if following a tune no-one else can hear. She has a low-pitched, alto voice.

To say that The Machinist is a friend of Sah'el would be an overstatement bordering on a lie; while there does seem to be a working relationship between the two, she doesn't hesitate to express her irritation over some aspects of his character, and the opposite is equally true. "We would both rather drown in the Styx", answered Balthazar to a berk who thought there might be some kind of romance between the two. If the rumours are true, though, she's been working for him at least on a couple of occasions- and one of the Tytatus Theater's pianists happens to be a mechanical scarecrow made by him.

Much more simple is the quiet companionship she sometimes shares with Saevio. The two seem to enjoy the other's uncomplicated, direct approach to life and though they are very different personnality, interests and goals, the drow relaxes in the company of the barbarian. Both of them are rather obsessed by their respective work, and as residents of the Lower Ward, they occasionally take a break together.
You’d expect a bard to thrive in public areas, to bask in the attention of their audience and to seek the friendly presence of others. Sah’el doesn’t. For a self-declared musician, she doesn’t  play that guitar a whole lot, at least not in recent months. If it weren’t for the regular performances she stages in the Tytalus Theater, one might doubt that she’s really writing any music at all. Few questions are asked, though, as there are enough performers in Sigil that one more or less dancer in the street won’t make much difference.

Sah'el seems to hold the wizard Alec in high regards, and always adresses him with polite respect. Since she joined the Bleakers, he has been seen around the Tytalus a few times. Besides, Niki and him allowed her to use the Archives to train and work when she did not have a safe place to do so, for which she is grateful.
Sah’el is polite to a fault. She greets known and unknown faces alike, listens with interest to what they have to say, and has no issue with apologizing if she has unwillingly given offense. There is however a sense of distance that she doesn’t seem eager to reduce; and when she does, it usually comes with unexpected directness that has been known to make some of her interlocutors uneasy. It takes a lot to rile this drow, but if that is managed, it also takes a lot to make her return to less negative feelings.

Most of the workers of the Tytalus would not be considered to be Sah'el's friends, yet she has developped a strong protective attitude towards them. Whether they are simple cleaners (and there is work to do, with all the dust and foul smoke coming in from the Lower Ward!) or artists, she treats them all with a polite respect, and keeps a sharp eye on whatever could threaten them. One of them in particular, the comedian Yvan, appears to have developped a fondness for the drow and has taken up the responsability of ensuring that she doesn't forget little details like eating.
Whoever wants to glimpse something else beneath her calm demeanour should confront Sah’el with music, especially if it’s different, new, or particularly well executed. There is passion there, concealed, but strong, and definitely at odds with the image one might have of a member of the Bleak Cabal.

When it comes to relationships, Sah’el seems quite close to three women: Aerenxa, Aria, and Senna. Is her immense talent the reason why Sah'el is so fiercly protective of Aerenxa? The one who calls herself the Weird Girl has been the main dancer of many a performance at the Tytalus, and Sah'el gives her a sort of respect that very few others get from her. Some say the two women have a long history of struggles and survival at eachother's side. Others, that the drow is merely, like many others, falling for the charm of the elven dancer.

Aria and Sah’el have known one another for a very long time, and are now part of the same faction. The drow seems to trust her fellow Bleaker with almost everything, though -much to Aria’s many, repeated, and loud protests- she won’t allow her to touch her piano.  Senna is, perhaps, the most natural looking person to share a friendship with, though her bloodline might have suggested to act with caution: quiet, efficient, reliable and deadly. What else could one look for in a friend?

----
Her closeness with Saevio Silverbludgeon might have changed over time, but the two still seem to feel a simple sense of loyalty towards one another. They occasionally take time off their busy schedules for a drink -that is, Saevio drinks, Sah’el watches. There is no doubt that they’d be helping the other in no time, would the need arise.

History
Sah'el makes no secret of the fact that she was born in a "normal" drow house, somewhere in the Underdark on Toril. During an Eilistraean raid on her house, she was considered young enough to be saved and was taught to dance, and play music. What happened then is not very clear, but she left them as soon as she reached adulthood.
She regularly takes up some of the Machinist's precious time, but to say that he is a friend would be an overstatement bordering on a lie. While there does seem to be a working relationship between the two, she doesn't hesitate to express her irritation about many aspects of his character, and the opposite is equally true. "We would both rather drown in the Styx", answered Balthazar to a berk who thought there might be some kind of romance between them. If the rumours are true, though, she's been working for him at least on a couple of occasions- and one of the Tytatus Theater's pianists just happens to be a mechanical scarecrow made by him.

Her travels led her to Ironridge. This is where she settled, bought her own music shop, where she kept a gallery of odd instruments and welcomed a gallery of odd people. Then Ironridge was destroyed, she lost everything, and somehow ended up in Sigil. There she showed interest in the Tytalus, which she ended up running.
Of the general planewalkers population, she has  her preferences. Besides Aria, her faction work brings her to regular contact with the Bleak Pilgrim, whom she treats with a great deal of respect despite (or perhaps because of?) the downright depressing aura that surrounds him. Her fondness for Lishthessaril seems completelly illogical, but might explain why her relationship with Cassidy is often so tense.

Sah’el also displays a strongly protective attitude towards the Tytalus workers. Whether they are simple cleaners (and there sure is work to do, with all the dust and foul smoke coming in from the Lower Ward!) or artists, she treats them all with a polite respect, and keeps a sharp eye on whatever could threaten them. The reverse is sometimes true : the comedian and desk worker Yvan has taken up the task to care for her and ensures that she doesn't forget little details like eating.

The Tytalus Theater
(OOC note: the in-game Tytalus theater is the work and creation of Anetra, and it’s awesome so it seemed odd not to mention it.)

What's a theater doing in the middle of the Lower Ward? You'd think no-one would ever want to come that way for a performance; and yet the establishment seems to be doing well enough- sufficiently, at least, to allow all of its employees to live comfortably for the Ward's Standards. It's an old, odd place, all stone and  wood polished by years of artists and audience walking on it. A body coming from the thick, smoky atmosphere for the Ward will find it refreshingly cool inside, and despite everyone's best efforts to keep it clean, there is a light but pregnant scent of moisture and gathered dust, mixed with wax and incense. Echoes of musicians tuning in their instruments, footsteps of dancers practicing, creaking of old planks  and the occasionnal mysterious air draft prevent the building from ever being silent. Some swear that the theater is haunted, perhaps by the presence of Lilith, its former owner, whose name is never much more than whispered with fearful glances left and right.
----

The backstage is a joyful ode to anarchy, with props tossed hapazardly around: costumes, masks, fake swords and real ones, mirrors and scrolls decorate the old carpets, half opened crates, and even a coffin. The untouched bottles of wine carefully stocked on a shelf are likely red-colored watery affairs used for on-stage performance, and it probably wouldn't be very safe to eat the remnants of a dried out loaf of bread someone left in the common area at some point. Several small study rooms can be found on the periphery of the backstage area, and each is kept quite clean and comfortable.

Upstairs is Sah'el's domain, and while a few of her planewalkers friends are known to be welcomed there, the only of the Tytalus' employees who officially holds a key is Yvan. The drow's living area is rumoured to be just as much of a mess as the backstage, with less many props and more books, music sheets, archeology findings that can range from a broken piece of relief to a humanoid bone that's been made into a flute. Due to the quiet nature of the drow, it is sometimes difficult to figure out whether she is home or not- unless she is working on a music piece, and then notes of her melodies filter through the door -sometimes, of late, bringing an unexplainable uneasiness with them.

Chant
With a bleaker at its head, and performances such as "Memento Mori" a "A Dance With Shadows",  and the upcoming “UnderWater”,  the theater has fully embraced the gloomy artistic trend that some have noticed-and complained about.

This drow woman is said to share her time between the Tytalus Theater, the Archives, and various ruins in the Outlands. The Tytalus clearly occupies most of her mind, between taking care of its people and organizing performances in which the dancer Aerenxa usually holds a central role, and sometimes -when time allows- actually dancing and playing music. When she is not in her theater, she can be found either in the Archives, sitting swamped in open books, or one one of her archeology sites in the Outlands, covered with mud.

She's a bard alright- clearly there is nothing more important than music in her life- a fact she doesn't even try to conceal. To a point where most berks'd consider her more than a little barmy. But maybe that's due to joining the Madmen? Either way she is known to wander for weeks in the Outlands, seemingly aimlessly, "for her archeology researches" she says. But then does she evern know what she's looking for? Why does a musician even care about traces of the past in the ever-shifting Outlands?

Sah'el by Penegal.

Whatever qualities she might have, she doesn't have a reputation for courage. Hiding and running away from dangerous situations are two of her specialties. Whether that really helps keep a drow alive is up for debate, but either way she doesn't particularly care to pretend being something else than a coward.
