Getting Started With Crafting
Buy your Key
To get started with the Crafting system you need to talk with Wilfred Wizzbang in the Clerk's Ward. Upon an investment of gold, he will give you a magical key that acts as an Extradimensional Warehouse. This is how you hold crafting materials and everything. You can see its contents by using the Warehouse Commands. /warehouse wood /warehouse metal /warehouse leather /warehouse gems /warehouse misc
Harvest Resources
Now it is time to go get resources. There are two ways to get resources: Hunting and Gathering. Hunting is the process where you will kill an enemy and they will drop a resource. Beast Pelts, Dragon Scales, etc. This is how you normally get Leather or things like that, however there are some creatures that will drop things that can be used as metals or woods when they die rarely. Gathering is the process where you will go out into the World and find Resource Nodes: Trees, Ores, Herbs. While collecting these nodes you will get amounts of Raw Resources, locations matters as that helps determine what could be in the Resource Node, for example you will not find Axiomatic (Lawful) Iron in Limbo (A Plane of Chaos). The materials you get will be proportional to your relevant "gathering/hunting skill" as well as when your yield will double or you will find a rather rare material.
Refining
Once you have gathered your raw resources, you need to refine them. The way you do this is by going to the Refiner in the Great Bazaar in Sigil's Market Ward. Talk to the Dwarf that runs it and get permission to use it by paying a small fee, you should not need to repay this fee. You then can process Raw Materials in sets of 100, 250, 500 and 1000. You will get a ratio of Low, Average and High Quality processed materials as you process your Raw Materials. This will be proportional to your "Refining Skill".
Crafting
To actually craft you will need to find one of several crafting stations in the game world. Tradegate has the Weaponcrafting Station Sigil, Clerk's Ward has the Tailoring Station Hillard's Bay has the Plate Armor Station Glorium has the Leatherworking Station Tradegate's Wizard Tower has the Enchanting Station. ***This is also where you sacrifice magic items in the arcane forge to gain arcane dust! Once there you can select Primary, Secondary, and Embellishment Materials. It costs 250 processed material's of a quality to be able to use that material in a craft. You will also need an amount of Arcane Dust and Gold per craft. All crafts besides Enchanting will give most of their Arcane Dust back in a full refund. The Amount of "Points" One can use in the Crafting System is equal to: Your Crafting Skill +20 or 50, which ever one is higher.
