Appearance

Samantha Drake, on the whole, is physically unremarkable. Average build, average weight, average height. Her frame does carry a small amount of muscle -- hinting that she is at least somewhat capable of taking care of herself. The only stand out features Samantha possesses rest entirely on her face. She has sharp-yet-delicate facial features and a rather charming smile. And it is that sharpness that outs her as not entirely human. The slightest of tipped ears further accentuates that there's likely at least some amount of elf in her bloodline.

Overall, she is a rather unassuming person. While possessing a pretty face and a winning smile, the young lady finds herself quite often lost in the crowd when surrounded by the far more exotic beings of the Outlands. Her attire typically favors function over form, though it does carry a certain feminine quality to it. Neither seeking to conceal herself or stand out, Samantha appears very comfortable letting the world pass her by. But, despite her apparent lack of interest in standing out, Samantha appears quite confident wherever she goes and speaks with just a tinge of sophistication behind her words.

If one were to find her in an adventuring party, no one would suspect her of being a front-liner. While possessing a small amount of muscle, it is clear this woman relies on her wits to win the day.

Samantha is also not one who cares for much dolling up, either. A simple brass ring on her right index finger appears to be the only bit of decorative jewelry she possesses. Among her possessions, the only constants are her aforementioned ring, her Satchel of Holding and a jeweled short sword with a somewhat-ornate hilt.

Personality and relationships

Samantha can be charming when the situation calls for it. However, her default demeanor is far more neutral. A natural observer, the young lady prefers to let the scene come to her than chasing it herself. Her manner of speaking hints at an educated background -- though she does attempt to hide it as to not appear affluent. She does seem to be a kind person, though one cannot help feel a bit of disingenuity behind her behavior. Overall, she's a woman that likes to keep her cards held close to her chest and doesn't mind that it's obvious to everyone around her.

Currently, her relations are solely among those within the Bleak Cabal, the residents of the asylum and their friends and families.

History

It didn't take long for Samantha Drake to realize there was no point or meaning to anyone or life in general. However, just because something has no meaning does not mean one cannot find value in it. As such, Samantha has always been seen as one of the 'sunnier' Bleakers out there. Instead of defaulting to a sense of melancholy when realizing there is no point to life, the woman found the fact rather liberating. If there was no inherent meaning to her life, that meant she was free to forge one for herself. The kid was Bleaker long before she knew there was such a Faction or another world beyond the one she knew.

Such thoughts, however, were not looked well upon in Faerun, especially with the business of The Wall and the eternity of anguish that befell the faithless of this Prime World. Fortunately for her, her upbringing -- while humble at first -- turned quite bright at around the age of 12 when her father returned from obscurity and sought to ensure her and her mother's life would be one of comfort from then on. The new life afforded several new opportunities, most notably the chance to study magic in a tower hidden away in an insignificant chain of islands. It was there that she learned of other worlds and like-minded people.

At the age of 18, Samantha concluded her education and her master agreed to open a portal to the Outlands for her. The typically prickly gent was even kind enough to send word to a group of Bleakers to receive her. While Samantha was still unaware of just what exactly Bleakers (or any of the Factions) were, she quickly understood that her master had correctly identified her would-be kindred spirits. Over the past two years, Samantha had joined the Bleak Cabal and worked in various asylums throughout the Outlands, furthering her studies of the mind and of magic. Her work and commitment to the cause were eventually rewarded and she was given permission to continue her work in Sigil.

Chant

Not much is really known about Samantha. Or, rather, there doesn't appear much worth knowing about her. She's not someone who has exactly gone out and made a name for herself. However, in very small circles in The Bleak Cabal and those that practice and study mental health and analysis, Samantha Drake's name has been tossed around here and there. Specifically, her unique approach to therapy has made a few small waves over the past year.

Samantha has published several journals in the field of psychiatry. She specifically focuses on using illusory magic in her therapy sessions as a safer way help her patients cope with their mental illnesses and confront their demons. Her greatest areas of success in this practice have been on patients who have been driven insane due to a traumatic event. In the past year or so she has almost exclusively seen mental patients of this variety, specializing in healing those driven insane due to outside influences.
