Description
Before you stands a man (If you can call him that) nearly eight feet in stature. His face always hidden by a mask depicting the Doomguard symbol, though he speaks with a faint Mongolian accent. His person is adorned with many grisley trophies; a necklace of various teeth, a pair of shriveled hands attached to one of the spikes on his pauldron, and a blue war banner tied around his waist with elvish writing. His wings are wreathed with shadow and he always seems to emanate more than one shadow. What little exposed skin is black as midnight with red rune-like tattoos. The Hound of War wears several grisly trophies on his person. They range from a necklace of teeth worn around his neck, to an old worg pelt that hangs about his shoulders.
Fanngrim once served as the head Hound for Byrri Yarmoril, the Arch-Lector of Plague-Mort. For years he served as a commander of sorts for the berg's militia. He was known as a vile and cruel captain, who beat the citizens for minor offenses. Many of those tended to come up missing.
Fárbjóðr ór Kveykva
Nullus' halberd is of great wicked design. It's blade is as dark as the starless void, and reflects no light upon its surface. When it slays its victims the halberd seems to draw out the life-force of the slain and leaves a dried, empty husk and every kill feeds life energy back into the Sinker. Only a True Resurrection or Wish/Miracle spell will bring them back, as the slain victim's soul is torn from its form in a brutal manner. Any healing spells cast at Nullus seem to be repulsed by something within the weapon.
Not much is known about the origins of Fárbjóðr, and Nullus isn't telling. The chant of it however, is that the blade is a shard of voidstone and the weapon itself was a gift from Belinik; Prince of Terror; Lord of Strife.
Homeland: Velenoye
Nullus' clan is known as the Svartulfr or Shadow Wolves and spent many generations as nomadic warriors that pillaged as they moved. When the evil god Azrai called upon the Vos and corrupted them, the Svartulfr became renown as the most vicious and bloodthirsty of all the other clans.
When Nullus was born, his mother, Miroslava gave birth to him in the battlefield, amidst a skirmish against a company of Gheallie Sidhe Silver Lance Riders, elves of the Tuar Annwh that the Vos have warred with since the fall of Azrai. His mother's handmaids helped deliver her son, but as they cut the cord a sidhe warrior ran into the tent and tried to kill Miroslava. She was the wife of Vsevolod, Hospodar of the Svartulfr, and she was no stranger to battle. She fended off the assault then took the severed cord and proceeded to choke the sidhe with it, killing him. She ended up dying later in battle.
Vsevolod was the Hospodar of the clan, their leader. He raised Fanngrim and his older brother Milivoj as great warriors. They served the Prince of Terror.
The Outlands
Plague-Mort
When Fanngrim was about twenty years old, the Svartulfr of Velenoye were attacked by a full battalion of sidhe warriors and mages. They were outnumbered 10 to 1. The clan fought hard, but their numbers dropped from about 3,000 to approximately 500 men, women and children. The surviving Svartulfr fled and scattered across Velenoye. A group of them, including a gravely wounded Vsevolod that was led by a wounded Milivoj found a twisted Awnsheghlien witch who opened a Gate for them, leading them to the Outlands, near Plague-Mort; Gate Town of the Abyss.
