A simple satchel hangs over her shoulder containing an assortment of books, treats, and various other installments of personal pleasures. She is unarmed and favors clothing that fits comfortably over anything containing great weight or burden.

The Dark on Dothea

• The girl is considered a drinker of light. Often, upon her approach, city lights will seem to dim and shadows will disrupt their usual pattern that they may bend toward her as though being drawn to her core.
• She is the proprietor of the Shadowed Bookworm in the Plane of Shadows. It is known that she was extremely close to the previous owner and rumor remains that the shadowy silhouette on the wall of the bookstore is in fact her true shadow albeit his wit and sarcasm is largely considered impalpable and dry.
• It is said that Eidothea made her first standing in the City of Doors by making small light and illusion shows within notoriously dark Butcher's Block tavern in the Hive ward. These small, often undersold and overlooked performances earned her enough jink to eventually take up residence outside the Hive.
• Lightboys and other children in the city seem to know her as though she were someone there all along in their lives. In truth, it is because she has offered assistance to both The Gatehouse and the other children in the Hive in the absence of someone who was never entirely there to begin with.
• Eidothea left Sigil for what could have been a year's time. She was last seen walking away from a hatted wizard in taking the arm of a man who spoke softly and carried a candle with him wherever he went.
• Upon her return, however, she resolved to unleash a grand opposition in the face of the Planes Militant and has since begun orchestrating great, illusionary tapestries of shadow and magic to present the City of Doors as a canvas to her imagination and her recovery from the dark realities she bore witness to.
• She keeps the company of especially strange individuals and in spite of her solemn and eerily peaceful demeanor, her detachment has since resolved to opening herself to opportunities that she never once considered when having locked herself with the Shadow in the Bookworm.
• As The Spectre, she is of growing reputation and considered one of the finest keepers of secrets, lore, and information within Sigil. The trade of information is rumored to have forged a network from the city Archives to the Shadowed Bookworm in Nix and with many, many shadows flooding the city streets of Sigil it is not difficult to find Eidothea's influence.

At First Glance

Eidothea is a small, young woman appearing to be within her very early twenties. She is of relatively average height and is built with the gentle curvature of a woman having found the cusp of maturation. Her hair is worn down, long and full of wavy curls that spill haphazardly over her features and often cascade her line of sight. But for her regular attributes, there is something off that seems to be an affair of a "touched" bloodline. Her skin is translucently pale and harbors an inhuman, soft, lavender light to her visage when not entrenched in shadow. Her arms and legs appear to have been dipped in jet black and the same could be said of her strange, pointed ears. Her skull is sylvan in shape otherwise, with a delicate but faintly elongated jawline giving her an eerily flawless set to both the drawing of her eyes and nose. Of her eyes, the sclera are a deep blue-black that lends to the storm of irises that range from cerulean blue to a warm lavender. Closer inspection reveals that her pupils are fine, darkvision imbued slits.

Eidothea is prone to dressing herself in light, loose-fitting materials that are befitting the destination of her travels. Having lived a relatively nomadic existence in her short life, the shadowmancer prefers to carry her things by means of necessity alone but is rarely seen without a book, loose parchment, or other painting utensils. Around her throat, she wears a long silver chain with a pendant that is fitted under her garments and hidden away from the world. Discerning eyes tell that it is an ornate bauble depicting a knotted, crescent moon of thin, professionally wrought silver.

Illusionist and Shadowmancer

Eidothea preferred her existence to have remained as an overlooked presence that would occasionally darken the streets of the city and be offered little further regard. But by force of her hand, three grandiose illusions were orchestrated by the girl's hands alone. These illusions were incapable of falling dispelled by any normal means and served as the paint with the City of Doors serving as her canvas. Because of this, she has gained both great notoriety as well as infamy in some circles for her affinity for weaving both shadow and illusion. Upon being questioned on how these great weavings were made, she offers no answer but since their coming the girl remains eternally changed as though deep sacrifices and scars were her gift in trying to speak out against the travesties she believe still haunt the players in the most recent installment of Sigil's usual calamitous events.

Speculated Associations

Eidothea is known for having very few affiliations but occasionally there are trending instances in which she can be seen conversing with several individuals within the City of Doors and elsewhere. This is of course excluding that strange, aforementioned shape that lingers at her shadow of whom she used to believe was far better company than anything Sigil had to offer. While certainly not a complete list or an exclusionary one, this does list some of the individuals she is seen talking to most often:

• Alec - Eidothea has spoken of the hatted wizard as though he were a friend from a place that drew back beyond Sigil and beyond the cusp of her typical resignation in befriending those that frequent the city. She is often frustrated in trying to understand his patience and his rationale but rarely sees it necessary to press the man from being anything more than what he himself claims to be. It is assumed they met during a time in which Eidothea had considered joining the Bleak Cabal or perhaps when that candle-bearing gentleman saw to speak with either of them. Nonetheless, she is defensive and remains quick to see that he is kept well even in his neglecting to entertain a meal now and again with his head buried to tomes and endless scrying for things she knows better than to ask about.

• Apollyon - Eidothea met the Tanar'ri Herald and he requested of her upon the hour for introductions that he call her as she liked. Recalling the nihilistic paintings lining the halls of darkened rooms of a decaying manor, she called him as the world destroyer - Apollyon. Eidothea seems in their conversing to at least be inspired by the incubus in listening to his words on chaos as though they aroused a deeply wound nostalgia. Rarely in recent days is Eidothea seen about either the Herald or his three-eyed raven in public or within Sigil. With apparent fondness of the term, it is the Herald that bestowed her the title "Sillu".

• Balthazar De'Medici - The "Once-Blue" gentleman is one she is seen speaking with on far more frequent terms since her return to Sigil. She harbors a strange (strange perhaps for her) consideration in enjoying his company and in listening to him speak. There are however times in which Eidothea appears to let her attention wander as though she were elsewhere all together in either conversation or in particular regard to this gentleman's concern. His shadow is fascinating to her. Of recent days, some would speculate that the two were once romantically involved or she holds considerable favor for him since she no longer follows the Bleak Pilgrim in his daily activities throughout Sigil. Either way, the great chronomancer appears an invaluable ally to her.

• Hafsa Sarah Shadiya Tabassum Alfarsi Twice-Bound Yet No More; A True Traveller of the Astral Plane; Daughter of the Third Cloud; Fulfilling Freedom's Niche; Traitor Sentinel of Ice and Steel; Crusader of Smoke and Mirrors; A Mortal's Last Breath; Queen of Cotyttia - ...During the final shadow weaving at the end of the Cotyttia Festival, the genie was seen leaving her throne and speaking with the girl in calling attention to her words. While Eidothea is interested in speaking with the genie and is shown to present recent familiarity with the company she keeps, she remains hesitant but considerably grateful toward her. Hafsa Sarah Shadiya Tabassum Alfarsi in return refers to Eidothea as "Spectre".

• Dristler - If not the Chronomancer, there is Eidothea's shadow. They say she does not have one of her own but of the many, many shadows that have reached her service in and out there is none rumored to be as loyal and lethal as Dristler. They share exchanges that border of glances and expressions and speak very little words aloud in discourse with one another. But where Eidothea goes, it of little surprise to find the talented Stalker close in keeping with her steps.

• Khren Rureth - This very peculiar gnome seems to have come from nowhere at once and much like Dristler, he often follows Eidothea. She speaks of him in softer tones than usual, considering his loyalty with suspicion but ultimately she has come to rely on his intelligence and wit on more than one occasion.

There are no doubt others given her new role and professional responsibilities as Sigil's Spectre. While these associations are bound to change, none would think to question her directly now in her dealings in having established herself. But for all the shadows she keeps and talks among, there is no doubt the sensation that she is forced always to look just over her shoulder. While Eidothea lacks a true shadow of her own, there is usually someone else trying to fulfill the role for her sake - be it by death or damnation.
