For our kind, there is nothing but the darkness -Dark One's proverb

Traits & Flaws

Character Traits/Quirks:

  • A mysterioues man who appear to have eyes in the back of his head, and for some reason do not need to rely on his eyesight, but rather scents and some way of sensing, even those invisible or hidden around him.
  • Dristler seems to be an observer, but has been seen interacting with varioues kinds around Sigil, openly. He is a rather calm induvidual, and it also reflects on his movements, and the way he speak. He moves around with an unnatural grace, and it is hard to tell if he have any substance at all but a shadow. His voice sounds like quiet winds who's currents are lost in deep tunnels.

Flaws:

  • The biggest flaw to Dristler would be the need to adapt to this new ways of living, and thinking. He fear the light immensly, but he can't do much about it. He was used to live with his own kind, and they had a "pack" nature to live by. In Sigil he is alone, and much of what he have to do is to him and his kind, a taboo.

The Obscure

The Dark Ones:

Few people know the origins of the secretive dark ones or why they appear to be split between two diffrent races: Dark creepers and dark stalkers. The diminutive dark creepers are hoofed and pale, while the lithe, almost ghostly dark stalkers look frighteningly akin to humans. The truth of their genesis and dual-species society is one of the endless night's best-kept secrets, a past that all but there enigmatic denzies of darkness have forgotten.

Physiology:

Their eyes are quite disturbing, appearing as sinister sliths uniformly coloured a dead shade of grey. While they do have irises and pupils, these features are well camouflaged, reminicent of the sightless eyes of cavern-dwelling fish. their soft voices remain so, even when used in anger. Dark ones do not so much speak words as breath them. When they speak their dark tongue it sounds like a series of punctuated sighs, and they rely on subtle in tone to convey meaning. Even when dark ones converse in other languages, their voices sound like wind currents lost in a tunnel. They are light for their size and they move as if they had no more substance than shadows. They conceal themselves in cloaks, masks, turbans, and wraps, preferring garb that covers their faces.

Religion:

Dark ones do not worship spesific gods as most other races do, and in fact find the concept abhorrent. Rather they revere darkness as an abstract force, a destination after death, and a personal ideal. How legitimate this religion is remains a matter of much debate, but the fact that all dark ones are inexorably claimed by shadows after death lends credence to their beliefs. Although noone can be sure, some sages specualte that dark ones' refusal to worship spesific gods led them to their current state. They might once have been mambers of a culture that never came to trust deities, or they could be heretics who turned their backs on their gods. An other theory suggests that the forbears of dark ones were offered protection by the god of the sun and, when they refused him, were forever cast from his sight, cursed with their aversion for light. Whatever their history and however it ties to their strange religion remains yet another of dark ones' countless mysteries.

Little Is Spoken

Not many know much about Dristler and those who think they know have barely maniged to scratch the surface of what is found. Some gain special training from Dristler. Others get little clues of wisdom he carries. Some even learn things so trivial about them self they are shocked to find out what really matters and what greatness one can archive with just the right kind of focus and the right kind of thoughts. Although not many can be sure what he truly is up to, some speak about the strange magical belt he carries that allows him to see into the future, that this belt is the only reason Dristler excist here. Some also say that Dristler him self has no clue about the intention to this magical belt. Others again say they don't really think the belt matters at all, it's just a tool, there to blind everyone while the master of darkness works behind the illusion.

Philosophy

  • Iron Will

Behind a strong will is always a fundament of experiense and wisdom. To teach this on is often a good way to learn what you already knew in a whole new, and to a deeper understanding. "You are hungry? Good. You could learn how to feed a whole world from this experiense." Then again, nothing is unbreakable. Even Dristler's will can be, and has been broken. However, to the Stalker this is but a good sign, strange as it may sound, but like you create a strong body, you also create a strong mind. Each muschle needs to be broken down just to be rebuilt to grow stronger. The same way you need to brake your own mind just to become more wise.

  • The Circle Breaker

As of late Dristler appear to have come to an epiphany, an undeadstanding, where change, if you want to progress, is inevitable. Circles are every where. They are in every thing. Every thing is a circle. Unless you do some thing about it. But not all circles are ment to be broken, so be careful which one you brake, and which ones you reforge. Each circle represent something with you, within you, as well as around you. As you link them together you forge a chain, and the stronger the circles, the stronger the chain become. This chain you create represent you. Your spine. Your very beeing.

  • The Flow of the Multiverse

Trust, is for you, and for you alone to find, and trust is only found in your self. Only if trust was a physical object could you say it was given to an other Blood, but it is not such, it is a spiritual idea of beeing. Finding trust is not an easy task, as it means you need to know your self, and learn your self to know. What is your limits, What is that drives you, What is your place, Who are you, and where are you now.

To have trust is simply to have found your self, and know you can, and will, change all the time. As time tick towards a new future, so can you change with time, and understanding change is to trust you change with the flow of time, with the flow of the Multiverse. Traveling the Planes this is an absolute needed ability, as Planes are always diffrent, even the time can be diffrent, the fauna, the gravity, the very perception of up and down, as well as the way of the mind can be backwards, inwards, outwards, and everything.

Trust is your instincts. Your instincts are everything.

Friends & Foes

No one mentioned. No one forgotten. They are what you make them to be. They become what you expect them to be. Some just to have time pass. Some to teach. Some will teach. Two you allow close. Three you keep away. Chose wisely.

Rumor Mill

Open for all to post:

  • After the arrival of Nix this is said to be his home. Yet it is not strange to hear, or even see, him head off to the sewers in Sigil, saying he want to rest.
  • Some speculate his connection with the Spectre. It is even said he is a paid bodyguard for the illusionist.
  • It is said that Dristler have kicked a woman, who was sitting without expectation of the event, into a river from a hight, or perhaps a bridge. This rumor has also gone about a man who Dristler have also, apparantly, kicked into some river, again from a hight. It is unclear what lesson could have been learned from this strange events.
  • More chant about violent acts is how he just punched the air out of Balthazar, the very well known Magus of well known status in the Godsmen faction. Few days later it is said they acted like it had never happened. It is /also/ said that Dristler has threatned the man on his life, for some mysterioues reasons.
  • He made Thilidar, also a known sorceror with strong ties to shadows, eat insects, and some sort of training, which had Thilidar run naked trough the wild life of the Beastlands.
  • Dristler is in possession of a powerful weapon, but it's not clear to what purpose or function it exists.
  • There are speculations about things occuring on the Shadow plane, which Dristler has been involved in. What, is not often said, if ever, or they say it will cost you to find out. Then again, is not the Shadow plane just a mean for quick travel?
